Legend of Apache Tear is that in the 1870’s the military attacked an Apache tribe in Arizona. Many Apache men were killed and the remainder rode their horses off a cliff rather than be killed by the white man. The Apache women wept for the dead and their tears of grief and sorrow fell to the ground and embedded into the black stone. So it’s said that whoever owns an Apache Tear will never have to shed a tear again because the Apache women shed theirs in place of ours.
